1/2 cup Water
1/4 cup plus 2 tbsp Sugar
1 tbsp Cornstarch
3-4 Egg Whites
dash of Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Combine water, sugar and cornstarch in a small saucepan. Stir well. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thickened and transparent. Beat egg whites (room temp) and salt until foamy. Continue beating while gradually adding cooked mixture. Beat 3 min.until stiff (not dry) and peaks form. Do not overbeat. Spread over pie, sealing edges. Bake at 425.º for 5-7 min or until lightly browned.
