14 oz bag of non cooked peas
3 quarts water
1 small ham hock
1 large onion
2 chicken bullion cubes
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 black pepper
1 bay leaf
2 tbsp. dried vegetables

Combine all ingredients and cook until peas are done.

This recipe was a favorite of Louise (Pell) Coan. She loved soup and would always make enough for whoever showed up to eat it. Great the next day as the flavors set it well.
