1 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
¾ tsp. salt
1 egg
milk

Directions:
Directions:
Measure, then sift 3 times, the flour, baking powder and salt. Break egg into measuring cup, add milk until the cup is half full. Beat well and stir slowly into dry ingredients. Add more milk if necessary but keep the batter as stiff as possible. Heat thickened stock, dip spoon in it, fill it with batter and drop batter into the stock. Continue this until the dumplings are barely touching; then cover and simmer for 2 min., turn them and cook them 2 min. more and serve immediately. For vegetable dumplings, add 1/2 tsp. diced onion and 3 T. green pepper.
