3/4 c. butter or shortening
2-1/4 c. sugar
3-3/4 c. sifted flour
1-1/2 c. milk
1-1/2 tsp. flavoring
6 egg whites
4-1/2 tsp. baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and add sugar gradually. Add alternately the flour and milk, reserving 1/4 c. flour. Then add flavoring. Fold in beaten egg whites. Fold in 1/4 c. flour with baking powder. Bake at 375º for 30 to 35 minutes.
