1 c. water
2 c. raisins
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 eggs, beaten
1 tsp vanilla
4 c. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ginger

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º F.
Boil water & raisins 5 min. Add vanilla. Let cool. Cream together shortening, sugar & eggs. Sift together dry ingredients. Add wet to dry. Mix well. Drop by spoonfuls on baking sheet. Bake 10 - 15 min.
