1 cup brown sugar, packed
½ cup margarine
2 Tbsp. light corn syrup
2 large apples
2 tsp. cinnamon
4 eggs
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
French bread
Cinnamon and sugar, mixed

Directions:
Directions:
Grease a 9x13 pan. Cook sugar, margarine and syrup for 5 or 6 minutes. Pour into pan, covering bottom.

Peel and core 2 large apples. Slice over syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon. Beat eggs, milk and vanilla in a wide bowl.

Cut enough ¾ in. slices of French bread to fit pan, squeezing slices together. Dip bread slices in egg mixture to cover both sides. Place bread over apples. Pour any remaining egg mixture over top. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning uncover and let stand 20 minutes. Before baking sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake at 350º F 35 – 40 minutes. Let stand 5 - 10 minutes. Serve.
