TOPPING
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/3 cup margarine
1/3 cup whipping cream
1 Tbsp. light corn syrup

FRENCH TOAST
3 eggs
½ cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla
¼ tsp. salt
¾ in. slices French bread to fit 9x13 pan

TOPPING: In a saucepan mix all topping ingredients together, heating until smooth. Cover bottom of a greased 9x13 pan with topping mixture.

FRENCH TOAST: Beat all except bread. Dip each slice of bread in egg mixture, place in baking dish, squeezing to fit if necessary. Cover.

Refrigerate 8 hours or overnight. Remove cover. Bake at 400º F, 20 – 25 minutes. Invert onto a platter and serve with whipped cream made with very little sweetening.

Optional: May serve with syrup, but the toast itself is very sweet.
