9 large baking potatoes
3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c (1 stick) butter
1 tsp. salt or seasoned salt
2 c. half-and-half
Directions:
Directions:
Cook the unpeeled potatoes in water to cover in a saucepan until tender, drain. Cool to room temperature and chill in the refrigerator for 8 hours or longer. Peel and grate the potatoes.

Layer the potatoes and cheese 1/2 at a time in a greased baking dish. Melt the butter with the salt and half-and-half in a saucepan. Pour over the layers. Bake at 350º for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is golden brown.

Yield: 10 servings
