Personal Notes:
I remember my grandmother Caroline Brue serving this very different fruit soup. This recipe was submitted by Mrs. Adolph Olson in a cookbook that I have had for over ( probably) 50 years. The cover is missing and the pages worn and yellow as this book was used frequently over the years. I made the fruit soup and my family humored me and ate it but no rave reviews and they thought it quite "different and interesting". The dried fruits are nutritious and it most likely was served as a dessert. I would think. So as not to disappoint anyone a chocolate treat should be available as well !!.
