1/2 C shortening, 2 C.flour, 2 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 C brown sugar, 1 egg slightly beaten, 3/4 C milk, 4 C fine diced rhubarb, 1 Pkg. (3oz) strawberry gelatin use as comes from box.
Crumbs for top:
6 T butter, 1/2 C sugar, 1/2 C flour until crumbly like pie crust, spread over top.

Mix first 4 like pie crust, add egg and milk mix together good and spread in bottom and little up the sides of 13x9 cake pan, mixture is moist, top with rhubarb, sprinkle gelatin powder over top of rhubarb. mix. Spread crumb over top.
Bake at 350º for 50 min.
