Bring a nice-sized pot of water to boil adding 1/2 cup of sugar to the water.

Peal the outer skin off of carrots but leave whole.

Add carrots to boiling sugar-water and boil for a full 10-15 minutes. Carrots should still be slightly firm yet no longer crunchy.

Remove carrots from sugared water and place in decorative dish.

The first time I tasted my Grandma Onie's carrot dish I thought their was some trick as to why they tasted so good. I could have eaten a whole bag of carrots in one sitting! I asked for the recipe shortly after and was surprised at how simple it actually was. Enjoy.
