1 1/2 lbs. stew meat
1 lg. apple, shredded, (1 cup)
2 tbsp. olive oil
1 med. carrot, shredded, (1/2 cup)
1/2 onion sliced
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup dry red wine
1 tsp. salt
1 clove garlic, minced
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 bay leaf
1/8 tsp. thyme
4 tsp. corn starch
1/4 cup cold water
1/4 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
4 cups cooked noodles
1/4 tsp. poppy seeds

Directions:
Directions:
Brown meat in olive oil. Add apple, carrot, onion, the 1/2 cup water, wine, salt, garlic, bouillon cubes, bay leaf and thyme. Cover & simmer 2 hours or until beef is tender.

Remove bay leaf. Combine cornstarch and the cold water, add to the beef mixture.

Cook and stir until thickened. Then stir in Kitchen bouquet. Serve over Poppy seed noodles.

I've had this recipe since 1973. It is GREAT and served with poppyseed noodles and Pumpernickle bread.
