1 cup butter
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
3 egg yolks
1 tablespoon cold water
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 pkg. chocolate chips
3 egg whites
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup ground salted peanuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar and beat until fluffy. Blend in egg yolks. Mix water and vanilla. Add to sugar mixture alternately with flour, soda and salt. Spread dough on greased 9x13 pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Beat egg whites until stiff. Mix in 1 cup brown sugar. Spread over chocolate chips. Top with ground salted peanuts. Bake at 350 oven for 20 to 30 minutes.

This recipe is for my ABSOLUTE favorite bar! Actually, I love these bars so much that it came to a point where I started requesting them for my birthday rather than a cake. I now make this same recipe for my family and they have renamed them Yummy Magic Bars. This recipe came from my Grandma Eva Nordby and they are also one of my Dad’s favorites. This is definitely a keeper!
