1/2 c. margarine or shortening
1 2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. milk
2 - 1 oz. unsweetened dark chocolate, melted
1/2 c. of walnuts, chopped
1/2 tsp. salt
powdered sugar for rolling cookies

Directions:

Chill dough overnight. Roll each cookie in your hands about walnut size then roll in powdered sugar. Place on a jelly roll type cookie sheet (air cookie sheets don't work for this recipe). Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes. Meg always switched the cookie sheets around in the oven, top rack to the bottom rack, about 1/2 way through the baking time for an evenly baked cookie.

This is Doug's favorite cookie and as a new bride, several years ago, I asked Meg for this recipe. Now we always have these cookies during the holidays and think of Meg.
