2 lbs ground beef
2C chopped onion
2 cans (1 lb, 12 oz each) tomatoes
2 cans (1 lb. each) kidney beans, drained (reserve liquid)
1 small can (approx 7 oz.) tomato sauce
1-1/2T chili powder
1 chopped green pepper
Salt to taste

Directions:
Cook ground beef and onion in a large heavy skillet until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain any grease remaining. Stir in tomatoes, liquid from kidney beans, tomato sauce and seasonings. Simmer uncovered 1 hour 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beans and simmer uncovered an additional 15 minutes.

Option: Cook and drain beef and onion as directed. Toss all ingredients into slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hrs. Add beans and simmer until beans warmed.
