1 onion chopped
4 T. shortening
4-5 pieces of chicken of our choice
1 T. Hungarian paprika
¼ tsp. black pepper
2 T. salt
2 c. water
½ pint sour cream

Dumplings:
3 beaten eggs
2 c. flour
1 T. salt
½ c. water

Directions:
Directions:
Brown onions in shortening and add paprika, chicken and water. Cover and cook until tender about 40 minutes. Remove chicken and add sour cream blending well. Add dumplings and chicken and serve.

Making the dumplings:
These can be made while chicken is cooking.
Mix all ingredients together and beat with a spoon. Drop batter by teaspoon into a pan of boiling salted water. Cook for 10 minutes; drain; rinse well. Drain well and add to Paprikas.
