1/2 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1 1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chocolate chips

Directions:
Beat peanut butter, shortening and sugars, egg and vanilla thoroughly. Add dry ingredients. Blend well. Fold in chocolate chips. Bake at 375º for 10-15 minutes. Let stand 2 minutes before removing to cooling rack.
