Cream:
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg yolk
1 teaspoon almond extract
Add:
2 cups flour
Press into ungreased 15 x 10 jelly roll pan
(teflon pan preferred) Spread evenly.

Beat 1 egg white until foamy. Spread over dough.
Sprinkle with the following mixture:
1/2 cup slivered almonds
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar

Directions:

Bake at 350º for 25 minutes.
Let cool 10 minutes. Cut lenghwise into 8 strips.
Cut diagonally into 12 strips to form diamonds. Cut small.
Name means "Johnny Hail"
