1 cup vegetable shortening
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cup flour
1 1/2 cup corn flakes (or raisin bran, or other "flake" cereal)
1 1/2 cup quick oatmeal
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla flavor
1 cup pecans or walnuts

Preheat oven to 350º. In a large bowl, mix the shortening and sugars. Add the eggs and mix well. Mix in the vanilla. Fold in the flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda. Add all of the remaining ingredients and mix well. Drop by heaping tablespoons onto a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for approximately 8 minutes.

Makes about 4 dozen

These are great to share with your neighbor. My neighbor shared them with me. I loved both the gesture and the cookies!
