2 c. dark brown sugar (or light if you prefer),

1 c. butter (Crisco),

2 c. buttermilk,

5 eggs yolks,

3 c. flour,

2 tsp. nutmeg,

2 tsp. cloves,

2 tsp. baking soda

2 tsp. cinnamon

1 tsp. salt

ICING:
Mix powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and scalded milk to taste. (Scalded milk gives a glazed look to icing.)

Combine cake ingredients and bake in 375º for 40 - 50 minutes. Cool cake before frosting.
