Ingredients:
Pork Roast
oil (small amount)
1 (16 oz.) can of sour kraut
1 medium white onion, cut into small pieces
1 medium to large apple pealed, cored, and cut into small pieces
cornstarch and water(standard mix for thickening)

Directions:
Directions:
Take pork roast and quick fry, in a small amount of oil, on all sides. Remove from pan and add water to loosen goodies! Cut up onion and apple into bite size pieces. In a crock pot or large cooking pot, lay down half of kraut and mix with goodies. Cover with half of the apple and onion. Place the roast on top of this and then lay down the rest of the kraut, apple, and onion. Add a little water as needed to keep the mixture moist. Cook all day slowly on low heat. Should simmer slightly. Take liquid off of the mixture at the end of the day. If no liquid is left add as much hot water as it will take to make a gravy and let it mix with the ingredients. Drain off that mixture into a different pan and bring to a boil. Add in cornstarch and water mixture until you get a gravy consistency. ( Gravy can be darkened with Kitchen Bouquet.) Add salt and pepper to taste.

I like to serve mashed potatoes with this meal and beets to add color. Gravy is good on tater and meat! This was Great Gram Gill's favorite to me.
