Personal Notes:
Us girls would all trail in behind our parents to Gramma and Grampa’s house like little ducklings for our weekly visit. Then Gramma would asked, “You vont a cookie?” And of course, like little bobble heads, we’d nod excitedly. Smiling, she’d say, “ You know var da are.”
Gramma made two kinds of cookies - big, round, white sugar cookies and big, round, molasses cookies both sprinkled with sugar and a raisin in the center. She stored them under the cupboard in a tall, 2 gallon, wide mouth, glass jar with a green metal lid. We’d all help ourselves, and of course with "Gramma Magic”, it was always full every time we came. I can still hear her say, “You vont a cookie? You know var da are”.
