1 lb. Graham crackers
1 cup chopped walnuts
3 tab. powdered sugar
¼ c. shortening
2 c. white sugar
2 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
5 egg whites

Frosting:
2 lb. butter
1 egg white in cup, fill to 2/3 c. with milk
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
1 c. chopped walnuts

Directions:

Beat egg whites until stiff. (Add powder sugar while beating)
Combine all other ingredients allow to soak and become soft. Fold in beaten egg whites/sugar lightly. Bake 350º for 1 hour. Check center for doneness.
Frosting:
Mix powdered sugar with egg white and milk. Add butter, vanilla and salt. Beat until smooth and spreadable. Sprinkle top of cake with chopped walnuts.
