"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
The name means "Quick Bread". The house wife needed to have the big meal ready by noon for the workers coming in from the field. Along with all the other dishes, she had to prepare, she could make this bread quickly.
It is a great dish to take to a party too. I take it unbaked, alert the hostess to have oven at 400 degrees, and while guest are arriving, the house will fill with the delicious aroma of fresh baking bread. What a hit for the hostess and you!
