1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 c. rolled oats
1/4 c. wheat germ
2 T. ground flax seed
1 t. baking powder
2 T. brown sugar
1/4 t. salt
1/4 c. powdered milk (optional)
2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs
3 T. oil
Dried Michigan Cherries
Chopped or slivered almonds

Directions:

Mix dry ingredients together in a bowl. Mix buttermilk, eggs, and oil together in another bowl and add to dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened--there will be a few lumps. Grease a griddle or skillet with a little bit of oil, and heat to medium heat. Pour 1/4 cup for each pancake. Sprinkle with chopped almonds and a few dried cherries. Cook until the bottom is browned (1-2 minutes) and carefully flip. Cook another minute on the second side.

I make these without the cherries and nuts for my kids and top with applesauce. Delicious! Our favorite pancakes!
