1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 eggs, beaten
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. soda
2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter, shortening and sugar. Add eggs; beat well. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk and vanilla. Great and flour and 8 x12 inch pan. Bake at 350º until done (30 - 35 minutes).

Cake Topping:
6 Tbsp. melted butter
1/2 c. cream
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 cup flaked coconut
Combine ingredients. Spread over warm cake and brown under broiler.
