2 cups brown sugar
1 cup shortening
3 eggs
4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs and sifted dry ingredients. Divide dough in half. Roll and spread fixing. Roll it like a jelly roll. Place in refrigerator over night. Slice and bake at 350º for 12 minutes.
Filling: 1 box dates (grind), 1/2 cup water, 1 cup nuts (grind) and 1/2 cup sugar. Cook for 5 minutes (cool). Spread on dough.
