1/2 c. butter
2/3 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 c.buttermilk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cornmeal
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375º F. Grease an 8 inch square pan.
2. Melt butter and mix with sugar. Quickly add eggs and beat until well blended. Combine buttermilk with baking soda and stir into butter mixture. Stir in cornmeal, flour,and salt until well blended and few lumps remain. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
3. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean!
