6 yellow squash, sliced
1 lg onion, slivered
1/4 c oil or bacon fat
1/4 c water
1 T salt
2 t black pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oil on medium high heat in a large heavy skillet, preferably cast iron. Add in squash and onions, sprinkle with salt and pepper then add the water. Cover and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until squash is tender. Uncover and allow the liquids to evaporate while it continues to cook. It is good for the squash to stick a little to the bottom of the pan and scrape those sediments off the bottom.
