2 T olive oil
1 T minced garlic
1 large can crushed tomatoes, plus 1 can water
1 small can tomato paste
1 T dry basil
1 T garlic powder
1 T salt
1 T sugar
1 t black pepper
1 t red pepper flakes
1/4 cup parmesan cheese

In a stock pot or large saucepan, saute the minced garlic in olive oil over medium heat for about a minute until fragrant. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Lower the heat and simmer for at least an hour.

To adjust thickness of the sauce: Keep the pot uncovered if sauce is to thin. Add water and cover the pot if it's too thick.
