2 cup sugar
2 cup self rising flour
2 tbsp cocoa, heaping
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 cup Coca Cola, boiling
2 eggs
1/2 cup shortening, melted
1/2 tsp salt

Icing:
2 cup sugar
2 tbsp white karo syrup
2/3 cup rich cream
3 tbsp cocoa
1/2 stick butter

Cake:
Mix thoroughly in order listed above, adding Coca-Cola last. Pour into 2 greased and floured cake pans. Bake 375 degrees for 20 minutes. This is a very thin batter. Do not open oven door while baking.

Icing:
Mix all ingredients except butter. Bring to a boil; boil slowly until a soft ball is formed in a cup of cold water. Remove from stove; add margarine. Cool before beating. Beat until consistence to spread. IF icing becomes too stiff while spreading, add more cream to soften.
