1 c. raw rice
1 lb. hamburger
1 green pepper
1 onion
1 can tomato soup
Cheese
Salt
Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Cook the rice. Brown the hamburger and pour off grease. Slice and saute the green pepper and onion. Place 3/4 of the cooked rice in the bottom of a two quart greased casserole dish. Put the hamburger over the rice. Put the remaining rice over the hamburger. Put the onion and green pepper over the hamburger and mix the tomato soup with 1/2 c. of warm water and pour over top. Grate the cheese and sprinkle over the top. Bake at 325 degrees, with the lid on for 45 minutes and remove the lid for a remaining 15 minutes.

This was a staple in Dick Lutz' family as he was growing up. The original recipe called for raw hamburger. I have modified it.
