1 cup self rising cornmeal
1/3 cup self rising flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp pepper (maybe less)
2 eggs beaten
1 cup buttermilk
1/3 cup milk
1 Tbsp melted shortening
1 cup cracklings

Mix and pour in greased and heated iron skillet. Bake 400-450º

This was a favorite growing up. My family would always open up a jar of canned peaches(pickled peaches) and eat with the crackling bread. Yum!
