1 tbsp. oil
2 lbs. stewing beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 ribs celery, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. curry powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 can (13 1/4 oz) beef broth
3 large sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
3 tbsps. flour
1 package (10 oz.) frozen peas
2 cups frozen pearl onions

Directions:
Directions:
In large pot heat oil over med-hi heat.
Add beef in batches and brown.
Transfer to a bowl.
Add onions, celery, garlic, curry powder, cinnamon, ginger and allspice to drippings in pot.
Cook until vegetables are tender, about 10 minutes.
Stir in beef, broth and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cover; simmer 1 hr.
Add sweet potatoes; cook 30 minutes.
In a small bowl combine flour with 1/4 cup of water until blended and smooth. Stir into stew.
Add peas and onions.
Cook until heated through and has thickened slightly, about 5 minutes.
