4 c. sugar
14 oz. bag of red hots
¼ c. vinegar
6 drops cinnamon oil

Add ingredients and bring to a boil. Simmer all day (uncovered.)

From Jerry’s mom’s recipes at Jim Meade's request. Also at Jim’s request, hints for the cornbread and biscuits that Mrs. Dotson made. Mama Dotson's secret to making biscuits- use only White Lily flour and always self-rising. (Serve with real butter.) Go by recipe on bag. For her cornbread—use self-rising White Lily cornmeal (no sugar) and go by recipe on the bag.
