2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
4 T. cocoa
1 c. lukewarm water
2 tsp. soda
1 c. salad dressing or mayonnaise
2 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients. Mix soda in warm water. Add water and remainder of ingredients to the flour. Bake in a 9x13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

This is one of the first recipes I received as a new bride in 1960 from my mother-in-law, Ruth Lutz. It is a moist cake. It is good with or without frosting.
