Cherry Chilled Cheesecake Recipe

1/2 c hard butter or margarine
1 1/2 c graham cracker crumbs
2 tbsp brown sugar, packed
1 8 oz block cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 c icing sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla
19 oz can cherry pie filling
2 c whip topping, thawed frozen or whipped cream

Melt butter, remove from heat and add graham crumbs and brown sugar, stir well. Set aside 3 tbsp crumb mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture firmly in ungreased 9 x 9 pan. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes. Let cool on wire rack.
Beat cream cheese, icing sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add cherry pie filling and stir well. Spread evenly over crust. Cover with whipped topping and sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top. Chill overnight.
