1 lb butter, 2 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup karo syrup, 1/2 cup water, 1 cup sliced almonds, 1 12 oz bag semi sweet or milk chocolate chips, 1/2 cup crushed almond slices.

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy saucepan melt butter. Add sugar, karo syrup and water. Continue cooking over medium to medium high heat until boiling. Ensure sugar is dissolved. Add almonds when boiling. Cook to 290 degrees stirring constantly. Toffee will have a caramel brown color. Pour over a lightly greased cookie sheet. Spread thinly. Sprinkle chocolate chips over top. (you may not need full bag). Lave on until softened, then spread into a thin layer over toffee. Immediately sprinkle with crushed almond bits. Allow to cool completely. Break apart and store in a sealed container.
