Pour 1 1/4 c. boiling water over 1 c. quick cook Quaker oats. Cream together 1/2 c. Crisco, 1 c. brown sugar, 1 c. white sugar, add 2 eggs. Sift 1 1/3 c. plain flour, 1 tsp. soda, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, 1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Whip up oats & add to cream mixture. Add 1 Tbsp. vanilla. Add flour gradually. Bake in long pan at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.

1 stick butter
2 c. brown sugar
1 can Angel flake coconut.
1 c. chopped nuts
2 egg yolks

Mix together, add enough milk to spread. Return to oven and brown 15-20 minutes at 350º
