4 c. All Purpose Flour
1 1/4 c. Granulated Sugar
1 lb. Butter

Directions:
Directions:
Soften butter to room temperature, then add sugar and mix. Take it slow...Mix flour into mixture 1/2 cup at a time. Leave for a little while between mixings. At last addition, use hand and knead together. Let stand for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 325º
Put into a 15 x 10 pan. Prick all over mixture with a fork. Cook for 23 minutes. Check to see if light-brown. Return to oven, if needed for another minute or two until color is reached.
Shortbread should be crisp. Cut into squares while still warm.
