Orange Slice Cake Recipe

3 1/2 c flour
1 lb orange slices (chopped)
1 can coconut
2 c sugar
1/2 c buttermilk
1 lb chopped dates
4 eggs
1-2 c chopped nuts
2 sticks oleo
1 T soda

2 c confectioners sugar
1 c orange juice
grated orange peel

Mix dates into flour and coat well. Add oranges, pecans, and coconut into flour. In another bowl mix butter with sugar and beat in eggs one at a time. Add buttermilk and soda. Combine liquids with solids and mix well. Cook in tube pan at 250-275 for about 3 hours.

Mix sugar and juice to create glaze. Pour over top of cake.
