3 1/2 c flour
1 lb orange slices (chopped)
1 can coconut
2 c sugar
1/2 c buttermilk
1 lb chopped dates
4 eggs
1-2 c chopped nuts
2 sticks oleo
1 T soda

Glaze:
2 c confectioners sugar
1 c orange juice
grated orange peel

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dates into flour and coat well. Add oranges, pecans, and coconut into flour. In another bowl mix butter with sugar and beat in eggs one at a time. Add buttermilk and soda. Combine liquids with solids and mix well. Cook in tube pan at 250-275º for about 3 hours.

Mix sugar and juice to create glaze. Pour over top of cake.
