1 1/2 c. milk
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 T. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
2 cakes yeast
flour

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk then put in large bowl with sugar, salt, and shortening. Let cool until lukewarm; add well-beaten egg and yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water; mix. Add flour until dough cleans bowl. Let stand until it has risen twice as large. Keep covered in a warm place. Roll 1/2 in. thick, cut and fry in hot shortening
