1 c flour
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c shortening
1 c boiling water
4 eggs
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Sift flour and salt; set aside. Bring water to boil in 2 qt sauce pan, then add shortening. Bring just to a boil, then add flour all at once. Using a wooden spoon, beat vigorously until dough leaves the sides of the pan and forms a ball around the spoon. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each. Drop mixture 2" apart on greased cookie sheet. Bake for 30 minutes. Makes 40 puffs.
Slice puff in half and make a thumb print in each side. Add your favorite custard filling and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
