12 T. Barley
12 T. Oats
3 T. Cornmeal
1 lb ground meat*
3/4 tsp garlic powder
1 med onion - minced

Directions:
Directions:
Soak cornmeal in 1/2 cup cold water. Boil barley in 5 cups water until almost done, then add oats and cook 5 more minutes. Add the soaked cornmeal and a dash of salt and pepper. Stir and cook for several more minutes. In separate pan, brown the meat - adding garlic powder and onion.

Butter a 9x13 dish, spread half of the cooked grains into the bottom. Spread the meat mixture over the first layer then add the rest of the cooked grains to the top. Cut into serving sizes.

I like to use ground turkey cooked with chicken boullion. This recipe makes a wonderful breakfast. Can be heated in microwave or be frozen for future use.
