1 cup of raw long grain white rice
1/2 cup of blanched whole almonds
2/3 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 pinch of cinnamon,plus more for garnish
Freshly ground nutmeg is optional

Directions:
Directions:
Step 1:Combine rice,almonds,sugar,vanilla,a pinch of cinnamon,and 4 cups of water in a blender.

Step 2:Blend until the rice and almonds is pulverized,about a minute.

Step 3:Strain through a mesh strainer.Serve over ice and garnish with cinnamon or fresh grated nutmeg.

Tip:Spike the shakes with amaretto or spiced rum.

Tip:Try this drink warm in the winter,with a little Brandy.

Tip:If you cant find whole blanched almonds,just be sure to find almonds without skin.
