1/2 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
4 cups diced apples
1 cup chopped walnuts
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar; add eggs and blend. Sift together the dry ingredients; add to batter and mix well. Blend in the apples and nuts. Pour into ungreased 9x13 pan; bake for 50-60 minutes at
325º. Freezes well. Serves 12.
