1 (8 oz.) package dried elbow macaroni, cooked
3 c. (12 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese, divided
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
3/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. ground white pepper
freshly ground black pepper, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Layer 1/3 of macaroni in a lightly greased 2 quart casserole dish; sprinkle with 1 c. cheese. Repeat layers with remaining 2/3 macaroni and 1 c. cheese, ending with macaroni layer. Reserve remaining 1 c. cheese.

Combine eggs and next 3 ingredients, stirring with a whisk until blended. Pour egg mixture over macaroni.

Cover and bake at 350º for 45 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cover and let stand 10 minutes before serving. Sprinkle with fresh ground pepper, if desired.
