1 lb. ground beef
salt and pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
½ cup ketchup
2 T. lemon juice
½ cup water
½ cup brown sugar
½ cup white sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ground beef with salt and pepper. Roll into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Brown meatballs in frying pan on stove top until browned. When done, set aside and start sauce. Combine remaining ingredients in medium saucepan and heat thoroughly. Lower heat and add meatballs. Simmer on low for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

This was my Aunt Sophie's recipe as she gave it to me, except that she gave me no quantities. How much is a "bisl" of brown sugar? I had to figure out the quantities by a little guesswork and trial and error. You will have to experiment with the amounts of salt and pepper.
