1/3 c milk
1 c flour
dash of salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/3 c shortening
3 c fruit
lump of butter
2/3 c sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch or flour

Directions:
Directions:
Combine milk, flour, salt, baking powder and shortening; roll out dough. Place 1/2 dough in 9" square pan. Cook fruit, butter, sugar and cornstarch until thick; pour filling on dough. Place remainder of dough on top; sprinkle with sugar. Back at 350 for 30 minutes or until golden brown on top and bottom. NOTE: for cherry cobbler add 1 tsp almond extract and 1 tsp red food coloring; cook on top of stove just long enough to thicken.
