1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar, packed
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. chocolate chips

2 c. flour
1 tsp salf
1 tsp baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients, set aside.

Cream wet ingredients til light and fluffy, add eggs and vanilla. Then add combined dry ingredients.

Bake at 350º, depending on what size you made the cookies, 12 minutes or until done

A good, basic cookie-jar recipe. My friend Sylvia warns not to substitute margarine or butter for the shortening - it will change the texture and flavor.
